CEQAMAP AWARDED HIGH HONORS!!

San Diego, CA

CEQAmap, California's only WEB-based digital archive of environment-related documents, recently received the prestigious-
2008 Outstanding Technological
Environmental Resource Award
from the California Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP). The award was presented at AEP's annual conference in San Diego. Award officials noted that "CEQAmap, a free, searchable, digital archive, increasingly improves the ability of the public to access important environmental resources."

Co-founder and managing partner Don Ritter expressed his gratitude for receiving the notable recognition by stating: "This much appreciated award speaks to our hard work at CEQAdocs.com, the parent company of CEQAmap, and in particular our Director of Programming, James Greenaway. Everyone worked diligently to create the computer code, user interface and the uploading of thousands of environmental documents that today compose this unique environmental resource."

Co-founder Dean Coker, whom accepted the award on behalf of CEQAdocs.com, explained in his acceptance speech that, "CEQAmap is a special archive; it is your archive, that is, you, the hundreds of environmental professionals who have written and produced these important documents. Today, every six minutes, someone, somewhere; not only in California, but across the nation and in a growing number of foreign countries, access this archive for reference."

Mr. Ritter added that, "we would like to thank the staff at the Governor's Office of Planning and Research, State Clearinghouse and Planning Unit, for their cooperation and we are also very grateful for the many sponsors of CEQAmap who have stepped forward to underwrite the costs related to maintaining the WEB server and code development. These are attorneys, scientists and consultants who have recognized the importance of this archive and in doing so have kept CEQAmap free to all users."

Prior to CEQAmap, there was no on-line library of digital documents in California. Early attempts to digitize or store documents proved impractical. WEB-based accessibility has changed the informational landscape, fostering the creation of CEQAmap and its fingertip access to crucial environmental information. CEQAmap can be accessed by simply typing the name CEQAmap into your search engine or enter the URL www.ceqamap.com

Mr. Ritter is available to demonstrate or speak about CEQAmap, at your next environmental or planning related conference, training or professional society mixer. For booking information please contact him at dritter@ceqamap.com
